This project is an experimentation into the form of the portrait. By creating an additional aesthetic dimension, by physically manipulating the image, I attempt to acknowledge perceived aspects embedded within the personality of the subject and portray it through a pattern. The patterns are specific to the individual making the portrait one of a kind, as no patterns are repeated. Ultimately, striving to demonstrate that each subject is deeper than the print itself.
My process entails the taking of the portrait of people I know on a personal level, and creating a pattern that I draw freehand in the moment, thereby including myself in the representation of their self.
